Dancing Dialogues: Expressive Dance for Women

Join a community of women exploring the connection between the body and the imagination for a more joyful integrated life.

This 2.5 hour workshop is about letting the dialogue begin by inviting the expressive body to speak, to find its voice and stories through movement, dance, music and art-making. We will explore the internal rhythm we all have and the beauty of our inner dance.

We gather in a safe and compassionate space, to welcome our creative self with no judgment.
This is an experiential workshop, and it does not require any expertise in movement, dance or art. You need to bring just an intention of letting this gentle dialogue emerge, and the curiosity and willingness to play and create.

• Writing and art materials will be provided. Tea, water and fruits available
• Bring comfortable clothes (layers) and a yoga mat
• Space is limited to 12 participants

Join us for a gentle exploration of movement in prayer, along with expressive art practices and reflection. Maria Carbonetti, member of the St. Hildegard’s Sanctuary community, will share with us what informs her own movement practice, and support us in exploring our own embodied contemplations. Each is invited to participate in ways most meaningful to them. As always, there will be assorted materials available to support your contemplative practice.

$10 suggested donation (more or less as able.) Light refreshments provided.

Please indicate your intention to join us by email reply to sthildegards@icloud.com by April 16.

Maria Carbonetti, PhD, is a dancer and expressive art therapist. She believes in the connection of body and mind for unleashing creativity and imagination. She supports the inherent capacity of the imaginative and expressive self to create possibilities in all aspects of life.

Theme: We are now in transition from the exuberance of Summer to the richness of Autumn. The sun is fading its visits slowly and beautifully leaving time and space for the womb time on Earth to arrive for us. This is an "IN BETWEEN" time, let's find our way into the season through dance and art. How we experience transition? How we dance it? What do we need to leave and to take with us? Where in our body systems resides the Fall?
